Yued Traditional Owners Visit Met Mast Site

Green Wind Renewables was honoured to host members of the Yued traditional owners at the meteorological (met) mast site for the Grevillea Wind Farm project in early January 2025. This visit represented a significant milestone in collaboration and mutual respect between Green Wind and the traditional custodians of the land.

The Yued people, part of the Noongar Nation, hold deep cultural and spiritual connections to the land. The visit offered an opportunity for traditional owners to share their stories, history, and cultural significance of the site, ensuring that the project aligns with the values and heritage of the local community.

“Our visit reinforces our partnering with the traditional owners of this land,” said Daniel Cotter, Director of Development at Green Wind Renewables. “We deeply respect the Yued people’s stewardship of this area and value the opportunity to listen and learn from them.”

During the visit, the Yued representatives observed the civil works over two days to ensure that there were no adverse impacts on Aboriginal cultural heritage. The delegation was also given a comprehensive tour of the met mast site and engaged in constructive discussions regarding the Grevillea Wind Farm project’s progress and potential impacts. These conversations focused on identifying ways to incorporate cultural heritage considerations into the project’s development.

The Grevillea Wind Farm project is dedicated to delivering sustainable, renewable energy and is focused on environmental protection and cultural heritage. Green Wind Renewables remains committed to ongoing consultation and engagement with the Yued traditional owners to ensure that the project reflects shared values and mutual respect.
