Green Wind Renewables is committed to engaging with residents within the Shire of Moora, Shire of Victoria Plains, Moora, and broader community for the development of the Grevillea Wind Farm project. Our approach to community engagement is both genuine and long lasting and includes the property owners directly hosting wind turbines and electricity transmission towers as well as the neighbouring community members. We are committed to keeping you updated on key milestones, developments and news related to the wind farm. Your understanding and support contribute significantly to the success of our endeavours, and we are dedicated to fostering positive engagement with the local community.
The Grevillea Wind Farm is committed to creating long term value for the Shire of Moora and Shire of Victoria Plains by supporting local businesses, workers, and the wider community. We would like to contribute to a stronger local economy, provide employment opportunities, support skills development, and build partnerships that go beyond the life of the Grevillea Wind Farm project.
To ensure our initiatives reflect the needs and priorities of the region, we will undertake a Socio-Economic Impact Assessment (SEIA). This assessment will explore the potential impacts of the project on local livelihoods, quality of life, services, culture, and overall wellbeing. It will also guide us in identifying strategies to minimise negative impacts and maximise positive outcomes for the community.
A Community Benefit Fund will be established to provide ongoing support to the Shire of Moora and Shire of Victoria Plains throughout the life of the wind farm. This fund will offer financial support to local initiatives, and community-led projects that align with local priorities. The fund will be developed in consultation with the community and launched following the development phase of the project.
In addition to the Community Benefit Fund, Grevillea also offers a Community Sponsorship Program to provide support for smaller, short term initiatives that strengthen local connection and participation. This program is now open to sporting clubs, schools, community groups, volunteer organisations, and not-for-profits.
We encourage applications for projects that promote health and wellbeing, inclusion, local culture, youth development, and community spirit.
